For the first time in South Korean history, a transsexual student entered a female-only university.
For example, Seokmyun Women's University noted that a 22-year-old student who underwent gender reassignment surgery last year successfully passed the entrance exam for a lawyer and will begin her studies in March.
"There are no rules prohibiting transgender students from entering our institute," a university spokesman said.
